Hyderabad Runners is governed by elected office bearers, and supported by 20-member core committee.
Abhijeet Madnurkar President
Abhijeet has been a runner since 2009 and has participated in many events across the country with a memorable Full Marathon debut at the TCS Mumbai Marathon 2020.
This is Abhijeet’s second term on the team and served as the Vice President for the 2017-2019 period.
He was also the race director for the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon for 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions.
As the president he aims to see HR’s mission statement of “running as the most preferred form of fitness activity” percolate to all levels.
Arun Kaliappan Secretary
Arun started running in 2012 and is an accomplished marathoner and ultra marathoner. He has mentored the CouchTo5K participants and has worked towards improving the Hyderabad Runners website and registration platform. As a first time Office bearer, Arun aims to “lead from the front, taking everyone along”.
Kiranmai Kondaveeti Joint Secretary
Kiranmai started running in 2012 and is an accomplished marathoner with multiple podium finishes to her credit. She was the race director for the HRs first Women only Night run organized for Women’s day. As a women runner and office bearer, she aims to increase women’s participation in running and also restructure HR;s documentation and record-keeping.
Venugopal Raju Penmetcha Treasurer
Venu is a veteran runner with 20 half marathons, 18 full marathons and 7 ultra marathon finishes to his credit. He is also an accomplished cyclist. As the treasurer, he aims to continue improving on the planning and utilization of HR finances and ensure statutory compliance.
Raghu Peethambaran Joint Treasurer
Raghu started running in his thirties and has completed many Full and Ultra marathons. He has been a mentor to many aspiring runners and has played various key roles during many AHM and Club Runs. As a first time Office bearer, Raghu sees his role as a formalization of his volunteering efforts. He envisions “taking the HR fitness training ecosystem to the next level” while also implementing best practices and processes in HR.
Ravi Setlem Executive Member
Ravi started running in 2008. He is an activist for many public causes and has been a tireless volunteer for many HR events. He has mentored many runners and promoted running in schools for underprivileged children. As a first-time office bearer, Ravi aims to intensify HR’s outreach to children in government schools.
