ABOUT THE RUN
The Hyderabad Marathon is being organized by Hyderabad Runners Society (HR), a non profit organization which was founded in 2007 to encourage running among all age groups in the cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It is the biggest running club in India and has more than 6000 members, with an even larger reach on social media. The club organizes 2-3 runs every week, among other activities. The Club also organizes a Club Run once a year which has more than 3000 participants.
The route for the Full Marathon and Half Marathon is certainly challenging! However, with a combination of rolling hills and three flyovers, "it's a challenge worth every step". Please ensure that you have followed a proper training schedule and have incorporated sufficient hill training into your routine. The 10K Run, and 5K Fun Run follow an easier and relatively flatter route. The 10k run has one flyover as part of the route.
Runners can participate in Full Marathon or Half Marathon or 10K Run & 5K Fun Run in Hyderabad Marathon 2017
The weather in Hyderabad is generally pleasant, with temperatures of 25 to 32 degrees C. However, the humidity may be as high as 50%. Sudden showers may be expected, though they are short. Runners are requested to dress appropriately and ensure they are sufficiently hydrated throughout the run.
There have been sudden showers during the previous editions of Hyderabad Marathon. The event went ahead despite these, as they were just cloudbursts. Cancellation of the event due to extremes of weather is at the discretion of the organizers - the well being of the runners takes priority. Any decision to cancel the event on account of adverse weather or other unforeseen situations including but not limited to public disturbances, will be taken after due deliberation, and in consultation with public authorities if necessary.. Please note that there will be no refund of registration fee in case the race is cancelled , and the decision of the Race Director is final in this regard.
All participants finishing within this time will receive the finishers medal and certificate. Please note that traffic controls and support facilities including aid stations, medical facilities and personnel may not be available after cut-off times
Yes!! We believe music is a great aid to running. However, please be alert to route signages, announcements and guidance from the race marshals and traffic police.
